23rd November 2012 – Kilkenny GAA Supporters Victory Celebration
On Friday 23rd (The White Horse Peckham) a selection of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling panel, including Captain Eoin Larkin, will be bringing the Liam McCarthy Cup from South East Ireland to South East London! All Kilkenny people and hurling fans are welcome to attend. The celebrations are part of the inaugural year of the London Branch of the Kilkenny GAA Supporters Club.
Hosted by The Hogan Family, there will be plenty of photo opportunities with the players and the Liam McCarthy Cup with great music, great company and great cráic! Entry is FREE! 27th October 2012 – Race Night Club Fundraiser @ Five Bells, New Cross
After the wonderful success of the club trip to Carlingford and 2012 season in general a race night has been organised to replenish the club coffers. .
The ladies from Green Isle Camogie will be hosting a race night in the Five Bells, New Cross at 8.00pm 27 September. All horses can be bet on at very competitive odds, races can be sponsored for £20 each. There will also be a raffle and spot prizes through otu the night. Not to mention the final live action race where Green Isle player will be pitted against each other for your entertainment!
19th October 2012 – Team Trip to Carlingford
The year’s Green Isle Camogie Club trip will be to Carlingford co. Louth . The bulk of GI arrivals will be on Friday 19th Oct returning to Blighty on 21st Oct. It promises to be a great weekend with lots of laughter, antics, general daftness that is the hallmark of any Green Isle excursion. There’ll be a mixture some of the usual faces and a few uninitiated first timers too. Watch this space for tasteful photos chronicling the weekend
On Saturday 15th September Green Isle Camogie club and John Mitchells of Birmingham met again to replay the Championship final. Green Isle went into the final with an unbeaten record for the season. The rematch was a very hard fought affair by both side but in the end the worthy John Mitchells won by a point.
1st Sept 2012 – Junior Championship Final
On Saturday 1st September John Mitchell’s put on a great performance on Saturday. It was a close, hard fought match with steadfast efforts from both sides to take the final trophy of the season. However it was not meant to be for John Mitchell’s, with the final swing of a hurl from Brianna McAdam Green Isle managed to equalise with a textbook goal. Final score Green Isle 3-2 vs John Mitchell’s 1-8.
28th JULY 2012 – Take Me Out Fundraiser
The ladies from Green Isle Camogie and Dulwich Harps Gaelic Football teams joined forces for a Take Me Out night as a fundraiser and a bit of cráic..and sure maybe a spot of match making too!
The willing panel of 20 lovely ladies and 5 very lucky lads put on a great show for everyone. The night was a wonderful success with in excess of £600 raised in aid of both clubs.
7th July 2012 – Junior League Final
Continuing our unbeaten run this season, Green Isle Camogie Club won the Junior League 2012 on Saturday 7th July against the tenacious John Mitchell’s of Birmingham. It was a hard fought contest between the league champions from the last two years.There was added poignancy to the victory for Green Isle as this was the final match for Geri Goring a stalwart Green Isle player for the past 21 years.
