We’re a very friendly, sociable bunch who all happen to enjoy a spot of camogie. Green Isle are always looking for new player. Anyone from absolute beginners up to experienced players are welcome. And some supporters on the sidelines are always welcome too.

ABOUT CAMOGIE

If you are not familiar with camogie here’s a quick out line. Camogie is a Irish stick-and-ball team sport played by women. It is almost identical to the game of hurling played by men. The basic object of the game is score more points or goals than the opposing team. There are H shaped goal posts at each end of the field (similar to rugby but with a net under the crossbar). A point is scored by sending the sliotar (ball, pronounced “slitter”) between the oppositions goal posts above the cross bar. If the ball goes below the crossbar, a goal, worth three points, is scored.

GO ON, YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO
